Amanda Jain is a new literary agent at the Inklings Literary Agency and actively building up her client list.
Inklings Literary Agency LLC is a full service, hands-on literary agency. The agency accepts unsolicited manuscript submissions from talented new writers, as well as from established authors. Inklings represent a broad range of commercial and literary fiction as well as memoirs and true crime.

Amanda earned her BA in English. She began her career working in the trade department at W.W. Norton.
After working at W.W Norton for seven years, Amanda left to pursue graduate studies and graduated in 2011 with an M.A. in the history of decorative arts.

She started working at Inklings Literary Agency back in 2014, as Michelle’s assistant. Amanda is now a literary agent herself and interested in building her client list.

 

Genres Amanda is interested in representing: 

  • All Genres of Historical fiction
  • Romance (especially suspenseful, historical, or funny stories)
  • Women’s / book club / upmarket fiction
  • Narrative nonfiction in the areas of art history, material culture, social history, archaeology etc.
  • Mystery stories (in particular historical or cozy stories)
  • Amanda also represents select young adult and middle-grade books

Amanda is NOT interested in children’s picture books, self-help, erotica, memoirs, poetry, horror, science fiction, fantasy, or inspirational fiction.
Amanda seeks masterfully-written stories with rich, vivid descriptions that pull you into a world beyond the pages.
