Memories fading
Did we ever exist?

I thought we had it all
But hope is lost
In a broken world
Where you and I ran free
To be anything
Our minds could imagine

Now we’re all grown up
And I don’t recognize you anymore

I wish we could be the little girl and boy
Innocently holding hands
Staring into windows
Of abandon dreams
Searching for heaven,
Counting dying stars.

Memories fading
Did we ever exist?

I thought we had it all
You were my first
Maybe my last.

Words of forever
Still wait to meet their fate.
