It’s moving day
All my possessions in boxes
Memories due for collection, when that big lorry finally comes
I’ve left behind the carpet and the wallpaper and stuff like that
And I’ll be sure to leave next doors cat
She used to love to wander in at breakfast, at the smell of bacon
I’ve taken down the posters of 1 Direction
1 Bloody Dimension if you ask me
But little Jessica swears by ’em, and as long as she’s happy
Oh and I’ve left you a little something in the fridge
A sandwich, I hope it’s to your satisfaction
It’s moving day
Everyone’s so excited
But I can’t help feeling a tad sombre
Spent a lot of good years here
Had a lot of good laughs
And if walls could talk, I wonder what they would say
So many memories etched into the fabric
I remember them fondly
Bought a TV, watched all my favourite shows, happy days
But it’s the end of an era, and everything’s packed away
Everything except the kitchen sink
I’ve packed away all my cd’s and my blue rays
Woody and Buzz are primed for another animated adventure
I’ve written the words, fragile and handle with care on the box
I don’t want a repeat of last time
I’m sure I will like the new place
I’ll be seeing a lot of it as I’m working from home
I hope I like it
It’s moving day
I have a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach
Maybe it’s the bourbon, or last night’s celebratory kebab,
but I’m struggling to digest the change
I’m somewhat reflective
It’s moving day
Everyone’s so excited
