How far will a distempered husband go to get rid of his loathsome wife?
“Deva once more unleashes her creative writing skills, luring us into a dark, psychological mini-thriller featuring an unlikable, murderous husband with despicable intentions. Odious as our protagonist is, we’re bound to feel a little compassionate toward him when we read the vivid descriptions of his devoted, yet off-putting, wife.
With short, hard-hitting descriptions, Deva masterfully brings to life the characters, enhancing their obnoxious traits and bringing out all their ugliest sides.
Just when we think we know which way this story is headed, Ms. Shore spins the plot around, bringing us to a surprising (yet satisfying) end.” – Editorial Review by Sandra Reynolds, Editor at the NY Literary Magazine.

I frankly couldn’t blame you if you turned your ears away
But while you know of all my doubt,
I ask you please to hear me out;
give me the time of day
You see, there’s been an accident, as if you didn’t know
My little girl is almost dead;
she’s in a coma and they’ve said
they’ll tie a tag around her toe
They brought her in by chopper just after half past nine
They chalked her out upon the tar,
gave her lots of CPR
to try and keep her hanging on the line
The vicar’s been; he held my hand and quietly had a word
He told me that I must be strong,
to talk to you, admit I’m wrong
and hope my voice is heard
He placed a cross upon her brow and whispered in her ear
He spoke in Latin, shut his eyes,
talked of how a body dies,
uttered words I didn’t want to hear
She’s lying there with tubes plugged into heart and chest and head
Golden hair surrounds her face,
her favourite doll stands by in case
she stays alive instead
You will always be on my mind
The splendor of true love,
Where you allow the wall of fear to fall completely down.
Allowing emotion and desire to take two people away to finding the real
pleasures learn by the burning candles and sweet red wine.
We touched our wine glasses.
Held our kisses deep and long.
The locked door leaving us protected and safe.
In a dreamer’s paradise.
The coldness of Winter brought her to me.
She wanted someone to read poetry to her and keep her warm.
I wanted someone to give me hope and strength.
I remembered she came to me late in the evening.

You sit there, sworn to keep your hands on your thighs, not moving.
I see your eyes burning as you watch me, wondering what I’ll do.
You cannot guess at my intent, but you know it’ll be worth your time.
I stand before you, in my black heels, red lace stockings grace my thighs.
The black and red teddy I wear skims the lace on my legs, teasingly.
My hair is down, long and wavy around my shoulder, sexily tousled.
Your mouth is slightly ajar, your gaze never straying from my form.
I move slightly, bending forward, and my cleavage draws your attention.
Your hand twitch slightly, but I know you wouldn’t dare disobey.
I run my fingers over my collarbone, dipping down between my breasts.
My hands dip down over my torso, sliding against my thighs.
I turn and bend forward letting you see my scantily-clad ass.
I hear a soft moan from your direction, your eyes are closed. Read More
“Don’t move,” you tell me with an air of command.
My mind struggles, my arms above my head,
held there simply by the strength of my…well, his will.
I feel a soft breeze in through the window,
the dark scent of rain fills my mind, excites me.
I glance down my body, to see you at the foot of the bed,
you’ll appreciate the pale flesh and white silk panties
just as you requested, all else bare to your gaze.
At the look in your eyes, a strangled sound escapes my lips.
Your hands find my ankles, holding them like manacles,
the heat of your touch searing through my skin,
tightening places that you haven’t even touched yet.
You are so strong, I can feel your strength as you hold me,
your fingers tightening around my ankles, holding me as you’d have me,
your hands pulling my legs apart, farther and farther, Read More
